Royal Visit April 2010

Visit by HRH Duke of Kent

HRH Duke of Kent talking to volunteers

The Lord Lieutenant’s Office was asked to suggest suitable venues deserving of a Royal Visit during April 2010. As the Prudhoe Community Allotment had recently won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, we were put forward.

As a result, His Grace the Duke of Kent visited Prudhoe Community Allotment in April 2010. He spent around 40 minutes chatting with those involved in the project, and was keen to know about how the organisation had thrived.

To thank the Duke for his visit, he was presented with a ceramic daffodil and two plants as a reminder of the day he visited Prudhoe Community Allotment.
